Ivy Charles graduated in May from the Fountain School of Performing Arts Acting Program. In 2013-2014 Ivy was the Production Manager for the Dalhousie Theatre Society, and in the summer of 2014 she was a participant in the Compass Points Program for Emerging Artists. This year she was a Student Representative for 2b Theatre, with whom she planned and promoted the Open Doors Workshop Series and facilitated workshops in directing, acting, playwriting, and lighting design. Ivy is currently Chair of the Eastern Front Theatre Audience Engagement Committee. She recently helped plan Eastern Front’s annual Touch-A-Truck event, and performed Box Office and Front of House duties for the Stages Theatre Festival.
Ivy’s favourite previous roles include Green Bird in The Green Bird, Phoebe in Quality Street, and Isobel in Lion in the Streets (Fountain School of Performing Arts), ‘The Flood’ in The Vagina Monologues (Saint Mary’s University Women’s Centre), Mina in Count Dracula (Dartmouth Players), and Vera in And Then There Were None (Dalhousie Theatre Society). She also volunteered in Ghana last summer with the Sankofa Center, performing African dance-dramas to educate rural villages about HIV prevention.
