Consultant
Mary Elizabeth (M.E.) Luka is an award-winning documentary producer and director for television and the internet, primarily in the arts. She is a consultant in the non-profit sector for the arts, social issues and education. Most recently, she assisted the Canada Dance Festival develop their multi-year strategic plan, and is currently working on a second phase of research and strategic development for the National Training Subsidy Program for the Canadian Dance Assembly.
As a SAM service provider, M.E. has worked with Mocean Dance in marketing and grant-writing, and with Filmmaker/Artist Rohan Fernando in strategic planning, and the promotion of films. A Vanier Canada Graduate Scholar and PhD graduate in the Joint Program in Communication at Concordia University, her scholarly interests focus on cultural media production, the creative and cultural industries, and the intersection of the arts, broadcasting and digital production.
M.E. is actively involved as a volunteer for professional and community organizations, including having served as the Communications Chair at SAM.
