Past Member of Board of Directors

Consultant

Skana Gee has worked in journalism and communications for the past 20 years.

For many years she was employed as a reporter and editor at The Daily News in Halifax, including six years in the newspaper’s arts and entertainment department.

When The Daily News folded in February 2008, she changed gears and began working as a communications consultant, specializing in writing, editing, research, publicity and media relations.

Much of her work since then has been in film and television, on productions including Canada’s Super Speller, A Drummer’s Dream, Cloudburst, Seed, Call Me Fitz, Haven, and, currently, This Hour Has 22 Minutes.

Skana also has an array of clients in the non-profit, business, and government realm, and occasionally writes for publications including Halifax Magazine, Our Children, and Dal Magazine.

She lives in Dartmouth with her partner and two (mostly) wonderful kids. She loves running, reading, and a good vanilla latte.
