More About David
David Oyler has been working in the charitable and non-profit sector since 2001. His most recent work has been with the AC Group of Independent Accounting Firms, the Anglican Diocese of Fredericton, the Association of Nova Scotia Museums, Blumberg Segal LLP, Creative Pictou County, Rural Communities Foundation of Nova Scotia, Sambro & Area Community Association, Techsploration, and in the continued delivery of sector presentations and workshops that has reached over 600 organizations around the Atlantic Provinces. He also worked with the Community Sector Council Newfoundland and Labrador on their Compliant Fundraising Practices project (funded by Canada Revenue Agency’s Charity Partnership and Outreach Program).
David is an active volunteer in the sector and the community. He is currently a member of the CRA’s Technical Issue Working Group which advises CRA on issues related to the regulation of registered charities. He is a presenter for the Canadian Charity Law Association webinar series and for the Association of Fundraising Professionals – Nova Scotia chapter’s education sessions, and was a witness in the Senate of Canada’s Special Committee on the Charitable Sector. He was a volunteer on Imagine Canada’s National Engagement Strategy, and served on the board of the Association of Fundraising Professionals- Nova Scotia. He is a Big Brother, a minor league basketball coach, an active volunteer in the curling community, and a member of Hike Nova Scotia’s fund development committee. Other organizations David has volunteered with include FEED NOVA SCOTIA, Homebridge Youth Society, the Red Cross, CBCF – Run for the Cure, Nova Scotia.
